Beginner's Package

The MUD Ceramics Studio Beginner’s Package has been designed for those interested in learning ceramics but not able to fit a regular group class into their schedule.

Consisting of 2 months of membership at MUD as well as 8 private lessons, this package will focus on you learning skills one on one with your instructor while having the freedom to put what you’ve learned into practice in the studio as a member. You’ll work through all the lessons covered in the 12 Week Wheel and Hand Building Course, including pottery studio operations, basic wheel throwing techniques, hand building techniques, and clay/glaze science. By the end of the package, you will be able to confidently navigate the pottery studio, and will have acquired the necessary skills to pursue whatever you wish to create with clay. Those who choose to continue their membership at MUD post completion of the Beginner’s Package will receive a 25 lbs bag of clay (white stoneware) free.

Please note: Before attending your first private lesson, we ask that you familiarize yourself with the MUD Ceramics Studio handbook and sign our liability waiver. The signed waiver can be returned either via email (office@mudceramics.org) or in person at the studio. We encourage you to be able to commit to a consistent time and schedule when booking the private lessons included in your Beginner’s Package, to maximize your learning and progress. For cancellations of private lessons, we require a 24 hour notice - lessons cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will still be counted as part of your package. The package of 8 private lessons must be completed within the two months of membership.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, MUD Ceramics Studio will remain open for members and classes unless a Travel Advisory is issued recommending the suspension of non-essential travel.
